The Coquitlam River Watershed Strategy partners are a group of concerned stakeholders in the Coquitlam River Watershed. These partners have made significant contributions toward this multi-phased initiative since the start of the watershed process during late 2007. Each partner has provided organization representatives to serve on a Coquitlam River Watershed Strategy project team, and in-kind and financial support. The Project Team completed its work during spring 2010, with the completion of Phase III.
During Phase IV Implementation through summer to fall 2010, a transition planning team, comprising participants representing the key government and non-government sectors in the watershed, was organized to assist in the formation of an adminstrative body, a Core Committee to guide the Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable, to be established during new year 2011. The Transition Team would subsequently disband following hosting a community Roundtable meeting.
Since the first Roundtable meeting was held February 19, 2011, the Core Committee, comprised of the many watershed sectors will guide the Coquitlam River watershed and the administer the Roundtable through 2011 and beyond as resources and in-kind support permit.
The second successful public Roundtable was held on November 5, 2011, which served to help guide the Core Committee and the many watershed interests toward developing new projects and activities within the watershed.
The Core Committee recently posted a opening for a Part time Watershed Coordinator position, with the aim to hire an individual this spring.
