The development of the Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable has been guided by several watershed partners, who have significantly contributed their in-kind time and financial resources. 

Over the past four years until Spring 2010, a Project Team met regularly to plan and hold public meetings and workshops that coincide with the steps in the process of developing an collaborative watershed body or organization that would support the vision and guiding principles established by the many watershed interests in the Coquitlam River watershed. 

Phase III of the Coquitlam River Watershed Strategy process concluded during the summer 2010 with the recommendation to move to implementation of a Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable.   

Phase IV started up in late summer and fall 2011, with the formation of a transition planning team, comprised of a broad sector of watershed interests to develop a Core Committee to plan and convene a first Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable for early 2011. Following two planning meetings held in November 2010 and January 2011, an inaugural Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable was hosted by a founding Core Committee on February 19, 2011. The Roundtable Core Committee will now serve as the administrative body to help guide the Roundtable in moving forward through 2011 and beyond.

Now that the four year multi-phased initiative has resulted in the successful development of a collaborative body for the Coquitlam River watershed, the new Roundtable is now moving forward in its first formative Year One and as resources and support permit.  Roundtable meetings are held up two times per year. Two have been held to date: February 2011 and November 2011.

The 2012 Roundtable meeting will be scheduled for a date later this spring.
