2012 Coquitlam River Water Quality Monitoring Results Released

During the summer and fall of 2012, the City of Coquitlam initiated a water quality monitoring program for the Coquitlam River to help build a current database of water quality data.  The monitoring approach was adapted from the draft "Stage l " framework for water quality monitoring as developed by Metro Vancouver's Stormwater Interagency Working Group (SILG). Based on SILG's draft framework, an examination of the sampling results for the 2012 Coquitlam River water quality monitoring program indicates overall positive watershed health with the majority of parameters being achieved at all locations during both dry and wet weather conditions. The City intends to repeat  the monitoring program in 2013 to further assess and build on the 2012 data set.
