Capacity and Resilience Sub-Committee participates in call with Mayor Milobar from Kamloops

On Wednesday, December 14, the Capacity and Resilience Sub-Committee participated in a teleconference meeting with Mayor Peter Milobar from Kamloops, facilitated by the Fraser Basin Council. Mayor Milobar discussed the experience of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District using the Alternative Approval Process (AAP) to secure municipal funding for the Shuswap Watershed Council. Following the call, the Capacity and Resilience Sub-Committee discussed next steps to build the resilience and capacity of the Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable, which includes preparing a case study that explores the AAP and other mechanisms to secure long-term funding. Thank you to Councillor Chris Wilson (City of Coquitlam), Margaret Birch (City of Coquitlam), Trish Hall (Watershed Watch Salmon Society), and Melissa Dick (Roundtable Coordinator) for serving on this Sub-Committee!
