Invitation to FBC's Stewardship Legacy Workshop in Langley on Feb 14, 2013


Fraser Basin Council invites you to a Stewardship Legacy Workshop in Langley on Thursday, February 14th, 2013!

Workshop Objectives:

• Facilitate learning via peer knowledge exchange, presentations from various experts, and field tours covering current water management and watershed stewardship topics;
• Keep a regional network of watershed stewards and practitioners engaged with each other; 
• Inspire and catalyze new work through networking, sharing of ideas and action planning; and,
• Identification of strategic priorities and opportunities for collaborative action.

Preliminary topics include an exploration of agriculture and stewardship issues, highlights of recent work in the region, and drinking water source protection. On the registration form, we offer a space to provide updates regarding your past or upcoming work, events or highlights, so you can be up to date with the work going on in your region.

Venue:    Nicomekl Hatchery, 5263 232nd Street, Langley, BC

8:30am-12:30pm Welcome, Speakers and Activities
12:30-1:30pm  Lunch and Networking
1:30-2:00pm  Tour of the Nicomekl Hatchery
2:00-4:00pm  Field Tour of the Dixon Property/Nicomekl River

NB*  Registration is free but we are limited to a maximum capacity of 50 attendees.  Please ensure you RSVP online to secure your spot. 

Registration Deadline:   Monday, February 11th, 2013

Points of Interest:
• The Hatchery and Field Tour will happen rain or shine so please bring appropriate gear and footwear. 
• We will be carpooling from the Hatchery to the Field Tour (approximately 20 mins) so any volunteer drivers would be most welcome!
