November eNews: Capacity Building and Watershed Outreach

It's been an exciting Fall for the Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable!

What's in this eNews? November eNews: Capacity Building and Watershed Outreach

The Roundtable is kick-starting initiatives to build the organization's capacity and resilience which includes forming new committees and planning a Community Meeting for local leaders from the stewardship sector to attend and elect seat appointments. In September, a new Roundtable Coordinator was hired and is supporting the development of these activities.

The past few months have been busy with the Roundtable participating in two great community events and engaging with the public in the watershed.

A number of Core Committee representatives have also recently engaged with broader communities and participated in peer-to-peer knowledge sharing through:

  • Participation in a Career Panel talk at the University of Victoria,
  • An update to the Urban Development Institute & City of Coquitlam,
  • A video feature on Global News BC,
  • A news article published in the Tri City News paper, and
  • A panel talk at the Living Waters Rally conference.

The Roundtable will continue moving forward with these initiatives in the coming months. Stay tuned on our website and social media outlets for updates and to learn how you can be involved!
