Invasive Plant Species Removal and Native Planting

June 14, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Join the Roundtable for an invasive plant species “pull” made possible by the financial support of Vancity, Metro Vancouver, Maple Creek Streamkeepers, and Port Coquitlam Parks Department.

When: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM, Friday, June 14th
Where: Meet end of Bedford St & Riverbend Dr, Port Coquitlam
What to Wear: Outdoor/gardening clothes that can get dirty, sturdy boots/shoes and sun hat
What to Bring: reusable water bottle/cup, work gloves (if you have), personal snacks, your smile and positive energy!

We will provide instructions, snacks, tools, gloves, tarps & laughter while we remove Himalayan blackberry, English ivy, and Policeman’s helmet. There is Japanese knotweed onsite, which the City of Port Coquitlam’s Parks Department will manage with care.

We are also planning to have a number of native shrubs and emergent sedge on hand to plant after our snack break.

Kindly RSVP to Melissa Chaun, mchaun@gmail.com, along with any questions you may have.

Hope to see you there!
