Invasive Plant Pull with Maple Creek Streamkeepers

October 5, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Together with the Maple Creek Streamkeepers, PoCo’s Parks Department, and Metro Vancouver’s and Vancity’s financial support, we are pleased to organize another invasive plant species “pull” with the hope that many of you will be able to join us this Saturday!

When: 9:45AM – 12:30 PM, Saturday, October 5th
Where: Meet end of Bedford St & Riverbend Dr, Port Coquitlam
What to Wear: Outdoor/gardening clothes (gear) that can get dirty, wet and potentially stained, sturdy boots/shoes and (rain) hat
What to Bring: Durable (drinking) bottle/cup, work gloves (if you have), snacks, your smile and positive energy!

We will provide instructions, snacks, tools, gloves, tarps & laughter while we cut Himalayan blackberry, pull English ivy, and dig up hops – yes, hops! There is also Japanese knotweedonsite, which the City of Port Coquitlam’s Parks Department will manage with care.

** We will have native plants to give away as a token of our appreciation for your pivotal support. Let’s celebrate the new fall season together with some earth-benefitting exercise, while learning about plants and making some new friends 🙂

Kindly RSVP to Melissa Chaun,mchaun@gmail.com, along with any questions you may have.
